Hey everyone. Welcome to another five-minute leader. I am here in Carpinteria filming a course, actually, a couple of courses, for LinkedIn, having a little bit of a break, and I wanted to record a few videos.
Today's five-minute leader actually tells a little bit of a story. It's about a fisherman and somebody who's selling tackle. I'll tie this back into a leadership lesson and what this means for you as a leader.
The story goes as follows: there is a fisherman who stops into a fishing store to buy some tackle, the stuff to put on the end of the fishing line to catch the fish. The fisherman goes into the fishing store, and when he walks in there, he sees all these different types of tackle, different colors, different shapes, and different sizes.
The fisherman goes to the store owner and says, "Wow, you have so many different colors of fish tackle here. Do the fish really like these different colors?" The store owner looks at the fisherman and says, "Sir, I don’t sell to the fish."
