Hey everyone. Welcome to another Five Minute Leader. I've been spending a lot of time with CHROs lately. It's one of the groups that I work with quite a bit, and I'm noticing a very, very interesting trend that's happening. It is applicable not just to Gen Z—although mainly to Gen Z—but also to other generations as well. Here’s what I'm hearing from a lot of these CHROs at companies around the world.
This actually happened probably two months ago. I was giving a talk somewhere, there were a lot of CHROs in the room, and this was one of the conversations that we had. The conversation came up around training and upskilling, and what a lot of these leaders have been telling me is that new employees, especially younger employees inside the organization, really have expectations of fast mobility and growth. In other words, they feel like they can be there for a week, two weeks, a month, a couple of months, and wonder, "How come I'm not the SVP inside this organization yet?"
