Hey everyone, welcome to today's Five Minute Leader.
In the last video, I shared a practice that I love that this company, Arca Continental, does. Today, I want to share another practice that they do, which I really love, and I had the opportunity to go along with them on this journey. It's called Market Investment Day.
I can't recall if they do this every month or every week, but the point is, it happens on a regular basis. They take leaders from different parts of the function, different parts of the business—whether it's marketing or sales or finance or executive leadership. They take people from different parts of the business, and on these regular Wednesdays, they go visit customers.
They talk to customers. They see how their product is being displayed, where it is, and they talk to owners of various places where their product is. Again, these are a lot of Coke products. I love this approach because it's not always the same people. It's different people from different parts of the business who are seeing firsthand how their product is being used, how it's being displayed.
It’s also different locations. So, it might be a restaurant, it might be a supermarket, it might be a small mom-and-pop retailer. Everybody inside the company gets insight into the product and what the end result of that product is, and the impact that they have on that customer, regardless of whether they're in finance, marketing, sales, or whatever.
